If I Worked for 493 Years

A recent job change led to the beginnings of some new pieces that are about identity/employment/supporting a family/office culture/staring into articial light all day, every day for the next 20 years. The process has made me want to develop a series of digital portraits of people in their computer desktops.

Sample Clip

"Electronic Action," a sixteen minute video performance and documentary of the 500,00 person march for reproductive healthcare in Washington, DC in March, 1992. The goal of the video is to highlight female voices in our country who normally do not get media attention such as Native American activists for choice.

Sample Clip

"She Asked For It," a multimedia performance (1989) and video (1990) in the mock courtroom of the law school at the University of Colorado, Boulder addressing jury perceptions of victims of sexual assault. Content based on the infamous "mini-skirt" rape case" that took place in Florida in 1989. (student work)

Sample Clip

"Brides File," a 13 minute video chronicling a Jewish feminist struggling to reconcile political views with my traditional family obligations at my wedding. (student work/comedy)

Sample Clip

"Video Dance," a 12 minute video/performance about an amateur dancer's travels through the world of urban jazz and new age modern dance done as a student in Janice Tanaka's video course.(student work/Comedy).
